Privacy policy
Last updated 2026-08-14
This policy explains what SmokerCalc.com (smokercalc.com) collects, why, and what you can do about it. The short version: we do not ask you to create an account, we do not sell data, and the calculators run entirely in your browser without sending anything anywhere.
What we collect
Information you give us
Only through the contact form. If you use it, we receive your name, your email address, the topic you selected and your message. We use that solely to reply. Submissions are relayed by FormSubmit, a third party form service, and delivered to us by email. We do not add you to a mailing list from that form.
Information collected automatically
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages are useful. It records pages viewed, approximate location derived from IP address, device and browser type, referrer and time on page, and it records outbound clicks on product links so we can see which recommendations people find helpful. Google's own processing is described in the Google Privacy Policy. You can opt out entirely with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
Our hosting provider also processes standard server request data, including IP address and user agent, for security and delivery. Neither we nor our analytics build advertising profiles from your visit.
What we do not collect
No accounts, no passwords, no payment details. Every calculator on this site computes in your browser, and the weights, temperatures and quantities you type are never transmitted to us or stored anywhere.
Cookies
Two kinds of cookie may be set when you use this site.
- Analytics cookies, set by Google Analytics, to distinguish one visit from another. They contain no name, email or address.
- Affiliate cookies, set by Amazon rather than by us, when you click through to a product. They let Amazon attribute a purchase to this site so we earn a commission. Their content and lifetime are controlled by Amazon and governed by the Amazon Privacy Notice. See our affiliate disclosure for the commercial detail.
Every modern browser lets you block or delete cookies from its settings. Blocking them does not break anything on this site: nothing here requires a cookie to function.
Third parties
We keep this list short deliberately. Beyond Google Analytics, FormSubmit and Amazon, this site loads web fonts from Google Fonts and product images from Amazon's content delivery network. Loading either exposes your IP address to that provider, as any request on the web does. We do not run advertising networks, social widgets, session recorders, heatmaps or chat tools.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has sent us information through the contact form, tell us and we will delete it.
Your rights
If you are in the EU or UK, the GDPR gives you the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing of your personal data, and to data portability. Our legal basis for analytics is legitimate interest in understanding how the site is used, and for the contact form it is your consent, given by choosing to send the message.
If you are in California, the CCPA and CPRA give you the right to know what personal information is collected, to request deletion, to correct inaccurate information and to opt out of any sale or sharing. We do not sell or share personal information, and we have never done so.
To exercise any of these rights, use the contact page. Because we hold almost nothing, in most cases the only records we have of you are analytics events we cannot link back to a person and any email you have sent us.
Data retention
Contact form emails are retained for as long as they are useful for correspondence and deleted when they are not. Google Analytics data is retained according to the retention period configured in that product, which is set to the shortest practical option.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS. No system is perfectly secure, so please do not send anything sensitive through the contact form. We will never ask you for a password or a payment detail.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the date at the top of the page changes with it. Material changes will be described on the page rather than made quietly.
